These diamonds are real and are both chemically and visually identical to natural ones. They are created in labs under controlled conditions, with the only difference being their origin.
CVD vs. HPHT – What’s the Difference?
CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition): Carbon gas builds layers on a seed crystal.
HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature): Replicates Earth's diamond-forming environment using extreme heat and pressure.
Both methods create diamonds indistinguishable from mined ones.
Some machines can suggest whether a diamond is natural or lab-grown, but no single tool guarantees 100% accuracy. Some tools are better at detecting HPHT, while others are better at detecting CVD. That’s why we use multiple advanced screening methods, allowing us to achieve up to 98% accuracy in determining diamond origin.
Unless your diamond comes with a report from a trusted lab, you can’t tell by looking. A proper evaluation by an equipped gemological lab is the only way to know for sure. We offer same-day results using modern tools and testing protocols. Contact us for an appointment.
It depends on the circumstances:
If the jeweler was unaware or misinformed, they may work with you toward a solution.
If misrepresented intentionally, legal action might be necessary.
If the diamond is lab-created but clearly disclosed, it’s simply a matter of preference.
